Every so often, we receive a call or an email asking, "I can't adopt a horse but would like to help. How can I help HHT?". We have put this page together to show you some of the many ways that you can support HHT. As always, your checks and money orders are welcome any time.

***We have to stress the point that we can't survive without donations. Compliments are nice to hear, but unfortunately, they don't put gas in the tank, feed the horses, etc.***

A memorial gift to HHT is the most meaningful thing you can do for someone who has lost a loved one. For many, this also includes the loss of a family pet. A memorial goes beyond most ordinary ways of expressing sympathy.

A gift can also be a celebration of joy. This can be in honor of a family pet, or just to honor a person on their special day. Example: Birthday, Holiday, etc. You can share this joy with the horses rescued through HHT by donating a gift in honor of someone special in your life.

Our Long Range Dream Wish

50+ acres of pasture land, in Knox or surrounding county, to build a safe shelter for women from domestic violence situations that will enable them to bring her animals with them. There would be onsite housing for the women and their pets, both small and large animals alike. If you think you may be able to help us with this dream, please let us know. We would be very interested in talking to property owners about Land Trust options.

Cleaning out your barn or remodeling. We except used tack in good condition and all types of building and fencing supplies.

*Items can be pre-bought and placed on our accounts at Tack N Stuff, Allen's Supply, Agri-Feed, Critter Country, Knox, Blount & Sevier County Tractor Supply or Farmers Co-Op. Just let us know, so we can pick up.

Horse Haven of Tennessee to hold 2nd. Annual Yard Sale

"Out of all charitable dollars donated across the United States, only 1% goes to animal related organizations. Coming up with new ways to raise money has been a real challenge.” HHT held their first Yard Sale and did pretty well. Everyone had such a good time we have opted to make it a yearly event. Watch for our 2008 date which will be set soon.

To donate an item, call Nina Margetson at Horse Haven of Tennessee. She will arrange for a board member or HHT volunteer to retrieve the new item, or like new item you would like to donate.

Funds from the auction will be used to help build a holding shelter for equine awaiting court release.

For a minimum donation of $25, HHT will send a letter from one of the many equine we have cared for over the years, complete with his or her story, color picture and hoof print signature to your gift designee.
